Compliance Update on the Use of Vitamin A and Its Derivatives in Cosmetics

Following the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2024/996, the European Commission introduced specific limits on the vitamin A content, including retinol, its esters and derivatives, in cosmetic products. The regulation also requires the following wording to be included in the product directions for use:

With this statement, the cosmetic laboratory Voltolina Cosmetici Srl confirms that all products fully comply with the concentration limits set by the new regulation:

• 0.05% retinol equivalent for body lotions and leave-on body products;
• 0.3% retinol equivalent for all other product categories.

Vitamin A is a safe ingredient widely used in cosmetics for its well-known skin benefits.
