What are stem cells?

They are the primitive cells, better known as stem cells, from which all the others will originate, are endowed with the ability to multiply quickly and give origin or copies of themselves, in this case we talk about “self-production”, or specialized cells of various organs or tissues, such as in the animal world, for example muscle, liver, kidney or blood. These, thanks to the above described process called “cellular differentiation”, are therefore able to replace the old (dead or not more functional), repairing tissues or structures sick or damaged.

Stem cells and cosmetics, what is the nexus?

It should be pointed out that the cosmetic ingredient used in the finished product, is not the whole stem cell but its extracts, concentrated in substances such as vitamins, amino acids, lipids, minerals, from which functional principles can collaborate directly with other cells, to intervene on those physiological processes that slow their activity with time. Green stems help stimulate fibroblasts, increase the production of these components, defend cells from damage caused by ultraviolet radiation and counteract the action of free radicals, thus helping to slow down the chrono and photo aging. These cells also contain the so-called similar EGFs (Epidermal growth factor – growth factors of the epidermis), comparable to human ones, used accordingly in cosmetics to stimulate the regrowth and trophism of a tissue.
